September 26–27, 2024
Week of Welcome is an important time for both you and your student(s). Just as we intentionally ensure that your student is smoothly introduced and incorporated into the University of Oregon, we believe that you should have a relationship with the university, as well. We hope you will join us for the following Week of Welcome events presented by Parent and Family Programs.
8:30–9:15 a.m.
Discover the history behind Eugene’s nickname “TrackTown USA” on a 3.7-mile tour of running trails surrounding the UO campus. Ambassadors run at a comfortable pace (10-minute mile) and stop frequently to point out landmarks, for an approximately 45-minute experience. Sign-up for a tour using the following form: Running Tour Sign-Up Form
9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Immerse yourself in the traditions of the UO through activities and events and connect with community partners who want to welcome you and your Ducks family to the city of Eugene. Students, parents, and family members are welcomed!
10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
We invite you to visit us at the Parent and Family Lounge during move-in. Come relax, enjoy refreshments, write a letter to your student, and meet university faculty members and staff. This is an informal space and families are welcome to come and go as they please.
