Partnering to Make a Difference and Shape the Student Experience
The Parents Leadership Council (PLC) is a passionate group of Duck parents serving the university as leaders, mentors, and advisers. The PLC meets twice a year, during fall and spring term. They discuss important challenges and opportunities related to student life and how to provide an exceptional experience for students. Members also provide insight, advice, and serve as a sounding board for University leadership. All PLC members make a minimum two-year commitment and pledge a $10,000 tax-deductive gift ($5,000 per year) to the Vice President for Student Life Leadership Fund.
This team of parents focuses on safety, wellness, leadership, and career development while collaborating with key university faculty and staff. The efforts, energy, and time our PLC members have given continue to shape the University's services and support for our Ducks. Because of their leadership, the University of Oregon has been able to create access for students to:
- Attend leadership retreats
- Travel for an alternative break
- Live in a University Housing Academic Residential Community (ARC)
- And so much more.
If you are interested in working with this team of parents, please contact Kris Winter, Associate Vice President and Dean of Students, and let us know how you would like to be involved.
