Partnering to Make a Difference and Shape the Student Experience
The Parents Leadership Council (PLC) is a passionate group of Duck parents serving the university as leaders, mentors, and advisers. The Parents Leadership Council meets twice a year, during fall and spring term. They discuss important challenges and opportunities related to student life and how to provide an exceptional experience for students. They also provide insight, advice, and a sounding board for University leadership. All Parents Leadership Council members make a minimum two-year commitment and pledge a $10,000 tax-deductive gift ($5,000 per year) to the Vice President for Student Life Leadership Fund.
This team of parents focuses on safety, wellness, and leadership and career development while collaborating with key university faculty and staff. The efforts, energy, and time our PLC members have given have shaped the University's services and support for our Ducks. Because of their leadership, the University of Oregon has been able to create scholarships for students to:
- Attend leadership retreats.
- Travel for an alternative break.
- Live in a University Housing Academic Residential Community.
- And so much more.
If you are interested in working with this team of parents or other groups, please contact Will Williams (firstname.lastname@example.org) and let us know how you would like to be involved.
